Nails Southport

Is there a reason some girls grow their nails long? How long are they and do they use they for a purpose?
Are they for looks or do you use them for things? What is the best length?

my nails are very strong, so they grow long on their own, and i like them that way, so i suppose i’ve grown them on purpose.

why? because i think they’re pretty! that’s enough of a reason given it doesn’t take much effort, i don’t grow them to appeal to men or anything like that.

i don’t use them for anything in particular, i’m a biologist, so they can make manipulating small things a bit easier, but they can also get in the way a bit, so the ones on my left hand (i’m left-handed) are shorter.

i try to keep the nails on my right hand at about 1 cm beyond the nail bed, and my left hand at half that. if they break i file them back down so they’re even.

would it be cute if i painted my toe nails black with white tips or just keep them totally black ?

I’ve tried to scrape off my manicure with nail remover and it’s not going anywhere. Any advice/ tips? Thanks :]

If you had them done at a salon, did the technician apply a UV gel topcoat, and then cure it under a UV lamp for about 2 minutes? If so, that is the problem. In this case, you would need to use a nail file and gently file the UV gel topcoat off of your nails before using nail polish remover. UV gel topcoat is non-porous, thus it is not easily penetrated by liquids, including nail polish remover and acetone. UV gels topcoats are applied in a thin layer and will file off easily. You only need to remove the topcoat itself and nothing more. Make sure to get all of it off from the entire nail. After that is done, use nail polish remover to remove any polish that was applied to your toe nails. For best results, use acetone nail polish remover if you have it.
If they did not apply a UV gel topcoat, then nail polish remover is all you should need. Unless, of course, your French Manicured toes were not done with nail polish, but instead done either with acrylic, or UV nail gels. If they are acrylic, then they will need to be soaked off in pure acetone for about 25-30 minutes. It helps to speed things up if you roughen up the surface of the acrylic nail a little with a nail file prior to soaking them. However, if they were done with UV nail gels, and cured under a UV lamp, then this is entirely different. As I mentioned, UV gels are not soakable. They would need to be filed off. If this is what you have on your toes, it is best to let a profesional remove them for you because even though you could easily file off the gel yourself with a 180 or 240 grit nail file, it is difficult for someone with no experience in doing this type of thing to tell when the gel has been filed completely off. If you were to accidently file too much, then you could easily damage your natural nails by filing them down thinking that you have not removed all of the gel yet. It takes some experience, and skill to properly remove UV gel toes.
If none of these apply to you, then I really don’t know what the problem is and cannot hellp you without more detailed information.

Southport manager Peter Davenport has left the club with immediate effect. Assistant Huw Griffiths has also left.
